Stinsford Parish Council
Local Plan Review
The Dorset Councils Partnership has started a review of the West Dorset, Weymouth and Portland Local Plan.
Stage 2: Preferred Options
The next stage is the publication of a Preferred Options document which narrows down the range of options to those considered most appropriate for inclusion in the final Local Plan. The Preferred Options main consultation document identifies a significant number of new sites for housing and employment development, including a proposed major new development for land north of Dorchester, which is within the parish of Stinsford.
The Preferred Options are being consulted upon for a period of eight weeks, commencing on 13 August 2018; the details are available here . Details of public consultation events can be found below.
The Parish Council's response to the consultation focussed on the North Dorchester proposals and is attached below.
Stage 1: Issues and Options
The first stage of this is to look at initial issues and options. These include the growth of Dorchester and options for the allocation of housing development to the north of the town, in the parishes of Stinsford and Charminster.
At its meeting on 27 March 2017, the Parish Council considered its response to the issues and options put forward. To aid this, it received a presentation from Mr Trevor Warrick, Spatial Policy and Implementation Manager from the Dorset Councils Partnership. The presentation is attached below.
